The University of Oviedo Library is conceived as a space where architecture and knowledge merge into a single integrated element. The central staircase, accompanied by built-in bookshelves, organizes circulation and visually structures the interior, becoming the defining feature of the project.
Dark materials and carefully placed lighting reinforce a sober and contemporary atmosphere. Integrated light points within the staircase add depth and dynamism, while glazed surfaces enhance transparency and spatial continuity. The result is a functional and welcoming environment that encourages reading, study, and reflection.
